DANCING POSSIBILITIES 1: Community Dance Stories

An interdisciplinary project bringing together dance, writing and visual arts with/by/for different corporealities, communities and places, by FLOCK COLLECTIVE.
Community Dance Stories travel in Greece and Cyprus under the aegis and with the financial support of the Green Ministry of Culture.
We invite you to an experiential workshop that combines movement, writing, and performance practices to tell individual and collective stories through our experiences. Contemporary dance, body/word Performance Writing, visual arts and curation, dramaturgy, and multimodal creation practices become tools for expression, dialogue, and connection. The workshop is designed and faciliated by Thalia Ditsa (MA Choreography), choreographer, educator, Christos Polymenakos (MA Performance Writing), dramaturg, mentor, researcher, creator of the body/word Performance Writing methodology and Iliana Fylla (PhD Dance History), dance theorist in collaboration with local artists, Antonis Liberopoulos(GR) and Eleftheria Socratous(CY).
The workshop is aimed at adults of all ages and different backgrounds (professional artists, arts educators, experienced amateurs, amateurs with little or no experience), as well as people with physical disabilities or mobility limitations. The space is fully accessible for people with disabilities.
First stop in Filiatra in the Peloponese, supported by the Filiatra Educational Association “Pirsos” (torch) at the end of January 2026, second stop in Heraklion, Crete, the birthplace and headquarters of Flock Collective AMKE, with the support of the Kalokairinos Foundation at the end of February 2026. Final stop in Dance House Lefkosia, in Nicosia, Cyprus at the end of April 2026, supported by this unique dance house.
